Radio MAMA (Midwest Aboriginal Media Association) in Western Australia broadcasts to an audience within an astounding nine-hour drive from the station. Outside broadcasts are an important way Radio MAMA can reach out to the community and develop content that interests their audiences. These broadcasts help people living in remote Australia find a place to belong – to connect with their distant neighbours.
With the assistance of our grant, Radio MAMA built an outside broadcast kit including critical equipment such as microphones, PA speakers and a laptop. Outside broadcasts help Radio MAMA reach out to their listeners while helping bring local culture to life over the air-waves.
