Head and shoulders portraits of a woman and man.
CBF is delighted to welcome Nadia Elads and Michael D’Rosario into newly created policy roles within the organisation. Both working in part-time poistions, Nadia and Michael together make up a full time role to provide policy advice to strengthen and share our unique perspective.
Nadia Elads is an accredited solicitor with a decade of experience in legal policy analysis, advocacy and stakeholder engagement. She has worked for NGOs, community legal centres, and corporate law firms locally and overseas. Recently, she was a policy adviser at the Australian Lawyers Alliance, authoring submissions to parliamentary inquiries on behalf of specialist groups in First Nations justice, human rights law, criminal justice, institutional abuse law and more. She worked alongside UK Parliamentarians in a human rights and government relations role at the UK Baha’i National Office and as a research analyst for an international UN-accredited NGO, monitoring human rights in the Middle East and North Africa. She started a couple of weeks ago and joins us from Coffs Harbour, working remotely three days a week.
Michael D’Rosario is policy professional with a PhD in communications sector policy and economics. He joins us from think tank Per Capita as their Chief Economist and Head of Research. He has informed policy decisions on a national scale with a focus on technology and digital access issues. He has worked with a range of organisations including Deaf Connect and National Disability Services, conducting economic analyses to optimise service delivery. His experience includes working as a data and research advisor at the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service. Michael started this week and will be working with us two days a week, which complements his other projects and work as a University fellow and lecturer.
