Like everyone else in Australia and around the world at the moment, we’re keeping a close eye on the COVID-19 pandemic and considering the impacts on community broadcasters and their local communities.

Ian Hamm, CBF Board President, reiterated in a statement earlier today that we will do whatever we can to support the sector during this time.

“The CBF is considering what we can do to support community broadcasters as part of our response to the rapidly evolving situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re currently looking at how best to use our resources to support the sector, and will be providing more information in the near future.”

One of the most important things stations can do right now is to find out what actions can be taken to ensure the safety of your people while at the same time continue to provide an uninterrupted service to your communities.

To this end, the CBAA have created an online resource with information about maintaining business continuity, how to prevent and address social stigma, and where to find trusted and accurate information.

The CBAA ran a webinar yesterday, Staying on Air and Safe during COVID-19,  to share information and best practice about how to respond to the impacts of pandemic when things are constantly changing.
