OKR FM sparking imagination with Stories and Sounds

December 3, 2018
Two women in library. One wears headphones and looks at computer. Another stands in front of a microphone reading and speaking.

We love when stations use our grants to bring stories to life. In partnership with Mitchell Libraries, the team at OKR FM produced Stories and Sounds in which they recorded local short stories in a small recording booth. After capturing the stories, Station Producers added sound effects, literally bringing the stories to life to spark the imagination of listeners. Stories and Sounds was supported by our Content grant.

With many more stories to be told, the team at OKR FM hope to continue this project in the future. They are also working on a similar project with Broadford Historical Society which may use a similar technique using the recordings of old printing presses.
