Do you have a favourite local community radio station you’d like to support with a one-off gift? Today, we’re launching a competition that will make it a little easier to do just that!
Why are we running this competition?
We all know that community media organisations are largely run by a small army of passionate volunteers – 20,000 of them around Australia – who donate their time, energy and skill to connect people, tell local stories and share knowledge in their communities 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We also know that people value this service because almost 6 million Australians tune in to community radio each week, with another million watching community television.
And all of this is achieved in stations across the country, often on less than an average Australian annual salary!
So in the lead up to the festive season, we thought we’d give you the opportunity to recognise your favourite community media organisation with a gift of $500.
How do I enter the competition?
Head over to our competition page before 5pm (AEDT) Friday 13 December and tell us how you think $500 would help your nominated community media organisation.
- Only one entry per person, and up to 10 per community media organisation.
- Open to Australian residents aged 18 and over.
- Prize money will be awarded to the community media organisation nominated in your entry.
What happens next?
Our panel will review the entries and award the prize to the idea that has greatest benefit for the nominated community media organisation.
We’ll be announcing on Tuesday 17 December, so keep an eye out on your inbox, and follow us on Facebook for updates.
Once the winner is announced we’ll send $500 to their favourite community organisation.
