Carolyn Wray has joined the CBF as our Strategic Communications Manager.
Carolyn is a well-seasoned communications professional with a passion for roles that ultimately help people thrive – most of her previous roles in Victorian State Government, corporate and consulting have been about building and strengthening communities.
While she’s new to the sector, Carolyn has included community radio in many of her strategies over the years.
“I have recommended community radio particularly when working on public health and behaviour change campaigns because of the high level of trust people have for ‘their’ community radio station and for the way program presenters were engaged in delivering information in a way that best resonated with their audience.”
As a yogi from way back before it was trendy, this is a meaningful role for Carolyn both professionally and personally.
“Sharing stories allows others to know us, like us and trust us. As a communicator, enabling the sharing of authentic stories brings enormous benefit to communities and the broader community. It validates and enhances a sense of belonging, it adds richness to the public discourse, and it makes society stronger though the sharing of stories different to our own.”
“I’m looking forward to meeting people and learning a whole lot more about the sector, please help get me started by emailing me to say hello.”
Carolyn is in a 0.6EFT role and will work Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. We are currently recruiting a Communications Coordinator to work a 0.4 EFT role that will be largely focused on sharing digital content.
