We’re committed to helping all Australians access independent media through community broadcasting. Access to printed publications often informs opinions and decisions, enabling full participation in cultural, economic, political and social life. People with visual, physical or cognitive impairments, learning difficulties or low literacy need to consume print media but don’t enjoy the same ready access as other Australians. The Radio Reading Network is the only radio service dedicated to providing access to published materials to the estimated five million Australians with a print disability.
We helped Vision Australia reintroduce a radio reading service in Perth. Our grant helped to fit-out studios and supported salaries for staff developing content and coordinating volunteers.

Since commencing broadcasting in September 2015, Vision Australia Radio Perth has substantially increased local programming to 35-hours per week and at last count, there were 80 volunteers and growing! Access to knowledge and information through radio reading is transforming people’s lives.
