The community media conference season is upon us and across the CBF team, we’ll be meeting community broadcasters and spreading the word about our grants. If you’re going along to the CBAA, Converge or NEMBC conferences, keep an eye out for our team members in green badges and make sure you say hello!
We’re joining community broadcasters from across the country in two days of immersive learning at the CBAA conference on the Gold Coast. Jo will host a workshop ‘Kicking butt with great content and a strong station – how the CBF can help you.’ Georgie from our Grants Support Team will be getting to know our Grant Assessors and spreading the word about joining her volunteer team. Ian and Chantelle will also be there to gain insights into the challenges of broadcasters and how the CBF can help.
Converge by First Nations Media Australia will once again offer us insight into progress and successes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community media. Ian and Jon will be representing the CBF in Sydney.
Ian will present at a plenary session and Jon from our Grants Support Team will be on hand to answer questions related to grants. Jon will also be encouraging attendees to join our volunteer Grant Assessor Team and looking for a prospective recruit to join our Development & Operations Grants Advisory Committee.
Esther from our Board will also be attending and will happily discuss our commitment to supporting Indigenous projects.
Ian, Dean and Barbara from the CBF Support Team will be delighted to chat all things community media with broadcasters from ethnic stations across the country at the NEMBC Conference in Perth. At their breakout session, they’ll provide tips on preparing for our next round of funding. Gerry from our Content Grants Advisory Committee will also be going along.
This will be Barbara’s last NEMBC conference before her retirement so be sure to bid her farewell after 27 years supporting ethnic broadcasting!
