New assessors Lauren and Darren

A warm welcome to the newest members of our Grant Assessor Team: Lauren Colosimo and Darren Kerby.

Lauren is currently the Head of Production at Channel 31 and the Festival Director for Melbourne WebFest – Australia’s premiere web series festival.

Darren has worked in both commercial and community radio including sales, training and marketing at CAAMA and Fresh 101.5 in Bendigo.

Once they have completed their induction and training by Georgie, Lauren and Darren will be ready to review the next round of grant applications.

We asked Lauren and Darren what motivated them to get involved. Here’s what they said…

“In my role at Channel 31, I have enjoyed working with community producers to help grow their ideas and develop their projects. I’d like to use my experience to support emerging producers who have important stories to share. I have worked with emerging creators for several years now and I am always astounded by the creativity, originality and innovation in the stories they present. I am excited to see these stories progress from an idea to a final product.” – Lauren

“I’ve enjoyed my past nine years in community radio, and combined with my business background, I can help support the CBF and its future. I love developing people and this is a perfect platform to pass on my knowledge to the industry.” – Darren
