This week the Board approved the allocation of more than $189,000 in our COVID-19 Quick Response Grant.

This grant was established to help community radio stations manage the immediate impacts of the COVID-19 social distancing requirements. It was specifically targeted at stations without paid employees that have been on air for the last 24 months, in recognition of the fact that these stations would be unable to benefit from the existing Australian Government COVID-19 economic stimulus initiatives.

In the short time the grant was open we received 111 applications from stations around Australia to cover a range of expenses including remote broadcasting training, cleaning supplies and services, microphone socks, headphone covers and meeting software. The grant was capped at $2000 per station.

If you applied for a COVID-19 Quick Response Grant, you will have received an email from us this week outlining what you need to do now so that we can organise for payments to be made as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please get in touch with our Grants Support Team.

And don’t forget that our COVID-19 Crisis Grant is still open. Community broadcasters can apply for up to $35,000 to help maintain or improve their services to communities throughout the pandemic.. Applications are being accepted now and will close next Monday 18 May at 2pm (AEST).
