The team at the CBAA, and all of us here at the CBF, understand how profoundly challenging these times are for community broadcasters. I want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure support is available as soon as possible and thank you sincerely for your patience.

During this crisis, it is essential that we make the best use of our resources to provide appropriate and targeted support where it is needed most.

The CBF Board and the joint CBF/CBAA COVID-19 Crisis Taskforce have been working to consider how best to support stations and the community broadcasting sector.

We have also been consulting widely with stations via the CBAA’s outreach, as well as with sector organisations and the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, and Communications. In addition to this we have held many discussions with our grant advisory committees and the CBF Support team.

We are working as quickly as possible and will be able to let people know what support is available for stations soon after Easter.

Thanks again for your patience. We hope you get a rest over the long weekend.

Ian Stanistreet
