Long serving community broadcaster and Community Broadcasting Foundation volunteer Gerry Terati Lyons (G Man) has been honoured with a portrait by Norfolk Island artist Adam Jarcuczius.

Produced as an entry for the prestigious Archibald Prize,  the piece entitled Ko Terati toku ingoa’ (My name is Terati), showcases G Man’s proud Maori heritage and love for Indigenous arts and music.

Speaking with Ngaarda Media, Jarcuczius said G Man’s warm, geniune personality and passion resonated with him.

“There’s something truly genuine about how Gerry asked me questions” said Jarcuczius.

Speaking to the Community Broadcasting Foundation he added, “It was a pleasure and an honour to paint him, there is a truth to him that made painting his portrait so easy, and I am so happy that it has been so well received.”
