During National Volunteers Week we’re celebrating the generous contributions of the many volunteers who give so much to bring community media to life.
More than 22,000 volunteers sit at the heart of community broadcasting, including over 160 of very own volunteer Grant Assessors, Grants Advisory Committee members and Board members. Their combined skills, knowledge and expertise in community broadcasting are central to our decision-making, ensuring our grants reflect the many perspectives, people, cultures and communities that make Australia what it is!
Together, we are are helping create a thriving and resilient future for community media.
So thank you from all of us here at the CBF, to all of our volunteers who give so much to our sector. We are better together.
We regularly publish interviews with our volunteers about their backgrounds and why they love community broadcasting. You can also read about the sector’s community broadcasting trailblazers who have all made a lasting contribution to community media.

“I’d definitely recommend becoming a CBF assessor. It’s great to feel like you’re directly making a difference on the ground at stations.” – Sharmaine Spencer
