In January 2021, we will welcome several new members to our volunteer Board and grant advisory committees.
We will also farewell those who have contributed their time, professional expertise and knowledge to the CBF ensuring community media continues to play a vital role in our society.
Two Board members will retire at the end of December. Both David Bartlett who joined the Board in 2017, and Steve Ahern OAM who joined in 2016, brought invaluable experience to their roles as Sector-nominated Directors helping guide the organisation’s strategic thinking and decision-making.
We are delighted to welcome Margaret Cassidy and Nicola Joseph who will be joining the Board for three years in January.
Our Independent Directors Esther Pearce and Patrick Keyzer were reappointed for a further three-year term.
Our three advisory committees, which provide independent advice on how grants should be distributed, continue to attract leaders in Australian community media.
Content Grant Advisory Committee (CGAC)
A warm welcome to Wayne Bynder and Tamara Whyte, who are both on our grant assessor team, and farewell to retiring members Nicola Joseph and Mikaela Simpson. As mentioned above, Nicola is joining the CBF Board in January. Mikaela, who is a presenter and producer for ABC Darwin, has been a member of CGAC since 2017.
Rob Meaton and Shane Dunlop were reappointed to CGAC for another term.
Development and Operations Grants Advisory Committee
We welcome Melanie Page, another of our volunteer assessors, and farewell Scott Black. Scott has been contributing his knowledge and extensive community media experience to CBF advisory committees since 2014.
Meg Butler and Bill McGinnis were reappointed for another term.
Sector Investment Advisory Committee (SIAC)
We will be making a new appointment to our Sector Investment Advisory Committee in the new year, but want to thank Chris Roper who is retiring for his contribution to SIAC over the last four years.
Cameron Paine and Geoff Payne were reappointed for another term.
We thank all retiring Board and committee members for their wonderful contribution to both the CBF and community media. We couldn’t do what we do without you!
