Today we are re-opening our first grant round for this year to allow all existing applicants the opportunity to review their applications in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We paused this grant round in late March because we realised that applications lodged as early as January may no longer reflect the current priorities of community broadcasting organisations given the pervasive economic impact of the pandemic.
What can current 2020/21 Grant Round 1 applicants do?
If you submitted a Content or Development & Operations grant application in Round 1, you will be able to review your application to consider how the current restrictions might affect your ability to deliver your project within the next financial year.
You may choose to change your application by:
- removing anything that is no longer possible or a priority because of COVID-19
- updating items or activities that are of a priority now
- withdrawing your application altogether for this round.
Please note: you will not be able to apply for any new projects, substantially change your existing project or increase the amount you originally applied for.
How will I access my application?
We are sending all applicants an email today that will contain the link to your application. You will also receive an email from SmartyGrants letting you know that you can access your application.
How will my application be assessed?
This is still a competitive grant round so our assessment process and selection criteria will remain the same.
All applicants will be notified in July following Board approval of the successful applications. The funds will be distributed later that month.
All re-opened applications will close on Monday 18 May at 2pm (AEST).
Contact our Grant Support Team if you have any questions or would like more information about what you can change in your application.
The Team will also be calling applicants in the coming weeks to ensure you know about this and the other COVID-19 Crisis Grant opportunity which also opens today.
And don’t forget about our COVID-19 Quick Response grant which opened last week and closes next Monday 4 May 2020 at 2pm (AEST). If you’ve been on air for the past 24 months and have no paid staff, you are eligible to apply for this grant as well as the COVID-19 Crisis Grant.
